It’s Tuesday Wholetonians!
Where do I start? First…people are LOVING Wholetones 2Sleep Gen2, I already had to order more, and many of you have sent in some amazing testimonials and facebook posts as well. I just returned from an “ESPY” award event in Los Angeles, where I had the opportunity to share Wholetones 2Sleep Gen2 with several professional athletes and TV personalities!
Now, besides writing you, I am shifting into creative mode to begin a brand new Wholetones project, slated to be recorded in August. Am I busy? Yes! But there are two kinds of busy:positivebusy, which energizes you, and negative busy, which wears you out. And usually that negativebusy is wasted energy, or, as a good friend calls it... cosmic dust... it is useless, and unproductive.
Sometimes we get emotionally sandbagged by other people that do or say something that hurts us deeply, and until we truly forgive them, the offense remains--renting space in our brains and weakening our resolve. And that brings us to todays musing, “Forgive One Another.
Here is a working definition for the word:for·give
verb: forgive; 3rd person present: forgives; past tense: forgave; gerund or present participle: forgiving; past participle: forgiven
stop feeling angry or resentful toward (someone) for an offense, flaw, or mistake."I don't think I'll ever forgive David for the way he treated her"
stop feeling angry or resentful toward someone for (an offense, flaw, or mistake)."they are not going to pat my head and say all is forgiven"
cancel (a debt)."he proposed that their debts should be forgiven”
Over the years, I have met several people that were incapable of forgiving someone that did them wrong. And without exception, the personal toll they paid for their inability to forgive, far surpassed their initial offense! Health problems, divided families, and emotional distress are just some of the symptoms of not being able to forgive.
And here is the hard truth, the person that hurt you probably doesn’t even remember doing it, and I seriously doubt they are losing sleep over the incident either. So, one thing is for sure…forgiveness sets YOU free.
Here is a great quote: “There is no love without forgiveness, and there is no forgiveness without love.”
The way I look at it, a life without love is no life at all. And it sure takes a lot of love to forgive someone who has wronged you! It might surprise you to learn that I have been hurt, ripped off, lied about, and taken advantage of, more times than I can count. Yet today, I can honestly tell you that I have zero regrets and have forgiven everyone that ever hurt me, and I am going to show you how!
I read one passage in the Bible that totally changed the way I looked at forgiveness: Ephesians 4:32, And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.
How in the world can I refuse to forgive another person when God forgave me??? So now, not only do I forgive, I forgive quickly before the offense can become a grudge. My friends, if you can relate to this week's email, take it from me--let it go, forgive…it will literally change your life!
Until next week…
Michael S. Tyrrell
