The Little Foxes That Ruin the Vineyard

Happy January Wholetonians,

Dear friends, every new year affords us the opportunity to take stock of our lives and make the needed “tweaks” to optimize our journey. Although big changes can be daunting, more often than not, all that is needed is a little adjustment. A violin has two sets of tuners: the four at the peg head are for major adjustments while the fine tuners at the bridge are used to make micro adjustments once the instrument is relatively in tune. So little changes can sometimes reap big dividends!

The Bible says a lot about the little things that, left un-dealt with, can have negative implications!

Song of Solomon 2:15, “Catch the foxes for us, the little foxes, that ruin the vineyards--for our vineyard is in bloom.”

This new year is full of promise and new possibilities. In other words, it is in full bloom! That is why it is of the utmost importance that we quickly detect and deal with the little issues that can impede growth. Here are a few little examples of what I am talking about!

  • A little laziness

Proverbs 24:33-34, “A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest. Then your poverty will come as a robber and your want like an armed man.”

  • Little faith

James 2:4, “Is it not plain that in your hearts you have little faith, seeing that you have become judges full of wrong thoughts?”

Little lies, little sense, little vision; so many little foxes that can ruin the vineyard.

At Wholetones, we keep a vigilant watch for little foxes: not only the ones that can affect the business…but the ones that can affect our lives! I am expecting an amazing year with so many wonderful things to share with you: new developments, new projects, new releases. And I plan to run without tripping over any little foxes!

Here is my recommendation... take a few minutes in a quiet place and write down anything you can think of that has curtailed your success. Ask God to help you defeat each of these little saboteurs. When I take the time to take an objective personal inventory, I always find a little something I can improve.

Now its your turn! Let’s have the best year ever. I will be sharing a major update with you before the end of the month, so hold on to your hats!

Until next week...
