Be Anxious for Nothing

Dear Friends,

Deep breatheSometimes the Bible raises the bar of character REALLY high. When you read the scripture, “pray without ceasing,” how do you feel?

What about this one: "be anxious for nothing”? Because of our human nature, sometimes we are anxious about everything!

As I write, there is so much going on around this big blue marble we call Earth. Peace seems to be a rare commodity in today’s culture. Yet Jesus said in John 14:27 (NIV), “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. Sometimes we forget that God would never ask us to do something we were incapable of doing. However, sometimes we give man more power than we do God! Because we can’t see Him, we often struggle to believe Him.

Friends, in my 58 years on this planet, I have seen what man is capable of—that alone is enough to cause anxiety in anyone. Like you, I am also mortal and at times I have let the cares of this world get the better of me. Over the years I have learned that certain things help to keep anxiety at bay:

  • Wholetones! Yes, my wife and I (as well as our dog) have experienced a new level of peace since releasing it to the public.
  • Deep breathing.
  • B vitamins, L-theonine, and GABA … these supplements could wear the edge off a saw! Can really help you relax.
  • A pet! Dogs and cats have been proven to scare the anxiety monster away.
  • Prayer! Here is another scripture to trust:

Philippians 4:6 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

Jesus prince of peace 550x413In this life, you are actually in control of very little. That’s why I get a charge out of people who claim to be “control freaks.” Actually, they are really just “freaks” because if they were actually “in control,” they would never be ill, never have an accident, never have a flat tire or a bad hair day! Remember, you can’t change circumstances, but how you react to circumstances will change you! Some of us are better at this than others; for me, it is a work in progress! I’m praying that you will discover peace long before you fall to pieces.

2 Thessalonians 3:16, "May the Lord of peace himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with all of you."
